The Classic and Sports Car Club Awards coincide with the UK’s annual Classic Motor Show held at the NEC in Birmingham in mid-November. Lancaster Insurance is proud to sponsor these awards and be involved in rewarding the clubs who help to keep the classic car industry alive. |
More than 300 classic car club representatives packed into the Westminster Suite at Birmingham’s Hilton Metropole for the annual Classic & Sports Car Awards on Saturday 12th November 2011. Compere Simon Taylor welcomed all the nominated clubs to the event and announced each category winner in turn, whilst Lancaster’s managing director, Lisa Joy and club account manager, Gary Long handed a raft of trophies to these winning clubs. The 2011 award winners are:
• Club of the Year – The MX-5 Owners’ Club
• Best Club Website – The Morris Commercial J,J/B, and Austin 101 Register
• Most Improved Club Magazine – The Tailwagger (Allard Owners’ Club)
• Club Magazine of the Year – The Courier (Triumph Sports Six Club)
• Best Club Run/Rally – De Dion Bouton Club (Charles Jarrott Commemoration)
• Best Club Show/Event – AC Owners’ Club National Weekend
• Club Personality of the Year – Steve Guest, TVR Car Club
• Most Interesting Selection of Cars – Club Peugeot UK
• Best Themed Club Stand – Panther Car Club
• Best Small Club Stand – Austin Counties Car Club
• Best Medium-Sized Club Stand – Pre-1940 Triumph Motor Club
• Best Large Club Stand – Military Vehicle Trust, Warwickshire & West Midlands and North Staffordshire areas
• Special Award for The Car That Stole the Judges’ Hearts – Ian Kellett’s Standard Vanguard transporter and Vanguard racer
• Car of the Show – Gifford Wright’s 1935 Singer Le Mans
