Competition Rules

1. General Rules

1.1 These rules are the competition rules (“Rules”) that apply to all competitions (“Competitions”) organised by or on behalf of Lancaster Insurance Services Limited (“Lancaster”).
1.2 Competitions may also have their own specific rules (for example, the details of how to enter, how long the Competition is open for, and the prizes). Any Competition specific rules will be made available by means of the relevant media as part of the website or other promotion of the Competition concerned. These Competition specific rules are called “Specific Rules”. If any Specific Rules conflict with a term in these Rules, the applicable Specific Rules take precedence.
1.3 By entering a Competition, all entrants agree to be bound by these Rules and any Specific Rules that may apply.
1.4 Lancaster reserves the right to cancel or amend any Competition, these Rules or any Specific Rules at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted either with these Rules or the Specific Rules or on the Lancaster website. Lancaster may at any time, without notice, issue further terms and conditions to be read in conjunction with these Rules and any Specific Rules.
1.5 Each entrant must be 18 years or over and resident in the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man. Lancaster may ask any entrant or winner for proof of age and residence.
1.6 Officers and employees of Lancaster, any company within the Capita group and any party associated or directly connected with the specific Competition (including sponsors) and their families, officers and employees (as applicable) are not eligible to enter any Competition.
1.7 Unless the applicable Specific Rules state otherwise, only one entry per person per Competition is permitted.
1.8 No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed or damaged or otherwise affected by matters outside Lancaster’s control.
1.9 Where a Competition has a closing date and/or time, all entries must be received before such date and/or time. Late entries will not be taken into consideration in selection of a winner.
1.10 By entering a Competition you warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete and that it will not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any third party.
1.11 Lancaster reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe that the entrant has breached any of the Rules or any Specific Rules or any other terms and conditions that apply to any Competition.
1.12 Lancaster reserves the right to reject entries, applications or claims and to alter, amend or foreclose a Competition without prior notice in its absolute discretion.
1.13 Competition winners will be chosen at random unless otherwise specified.
1.14 The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
1.15 Lancaster will endeavour to notify and deliver prizes to winners of each Competition within 30 days of the closing date set for that Competition. Return of any prize notification as undeliverable or failure to reply as specified in the notification may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternative winner. Lancaster will not be responsible for any inability of a winner to take up the specified prize.
1.16 The names of the winners of each Competition are available on request to Lancaster.
1.17 Unless otherwise stated, any expenses incurred by the winner or any guest (where applicable) in connection with the use or enjoyment of a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.
1.18 In the case of Competition prizes in the form of free tickets for a particular event, ticket holders will be bound by (a) these Rules, (b) any Specific Rules that apply, (c) any terms and conditions set out on the event tickets and (d) the rules and regulations of the particular venue (as applicable). Lancaster accepts no responsibility for cancellation, curtailment or alteration of the event.
1.19 All Competition prizes are subject to availability.
1.20 No cash alternative or alternative prize is available. If the advertised Competition prize is unavailable for whatever reason, Lancaster reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
1.21 Lancaster shall not be responsible for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering, or being unable to enter, any Competition or as a result of accepting any Competition prize.
1.22 Competition winners must be willing to take part in or co-operate with reasonable publicity or other form of promotional activity.
1.23 By entering a Competition you grant and assign to Lancaster the entire copyright and other intellectual property rights in and/or arising from your entry and your involvement in the Competition (including, without limitation, all interviews, pictures, audio, audio-visual, whether your appearance is featured or incidental) in all media and technology (“Products”), and where such Products are not in existence at the date you enter a Competition, by way of present assignment of future assignment.
1.24 You represent and warrant that you have the right, power and authority to grant the rights set out above and that you have obtained all consents and permissions in respect of the same.
1.25 Any personal data relating to Competition entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation. By entering a Competition you are allowing Lancaster to use your personal data to contact you regarding its products and services, unless you tell us that you do not wish us to do so.
1.26 Lancaster will keep a winning entrant’s personal details for a reasonable time so that it can send the entrant the winning prize, to verify that these Rules (and any Specific Rules, if applicable) have been complied with, and for accounting and compliance purposes.
1.27 Entrants agree to keep confidential any information of whatever nature regarding Lancaster, and its business, personnel, agents, sponsors and event promoters received by entrants as a result of winning or participating in any Competition.
1.28 Each Competition shall be governed by English law and all parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
