MG Live!

MG Live! at the world-famous Silverstone circuit 24th-26th June 2011 |
Thankfully there was more sun than rain at this year’s MG Live event making for a very pleasant weekend. Visitors to our 1940s themed stand were able to take a seat and enter our quiz whilst joining us for a cup of tea or coffee. Our 1940s music and memorabilia on our stand attracted great interest from show visitors. Tea and street parties have experienced a healthy revival this year and we were glad to be able to offer this to all show visitors (declared as the best stand of the show by several visitors).
Many MG enthusiasts make this event something of an annual pilgrimage with visitors travelling from as far as Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Malta, Australia and beyond. Reportedly so many classic car enthusiasts travel such large distances because parts costing only a few pounds in the UK can cost several hundreds of pounds in their home country.
Throughout the show we ran a competition where one lucky winner had the chance to win a selection of tools for their MG worth £190. Thank you to all visitors who entered and to Ginny Cartmell Secretary of the MG Car Club C Register who kindly drew the winning entry. Congratulations to Mr G Barron of Ascot who won the competition.
