Mr Critchley has been a Lancaster customer for 10 years and has taken out a total of 28 insurance policies. Commenting on why he chose Lancaster all those years ago he said: “Lancaster was billed as offering the best quote possible and they have been very good so I haven’t felt the need to shop around again.”
He always purchases fully comprehensive cover but states that ultimately, he believes the choice of cover comes down to price.
Over the years, he has owned a number of cars both classic and regular which include a Triumph Spitfire, Saab convertible and Renault Megane. Both his regular and classic car policies have been provided by Lancaster.

I have just renewed my policy with you and wanted to feedback on the really pleasant customer experience I had with your call centre. In a world, where too often we have extremely lack lustre levels of service, it was a pleasant surprise to have an enthusiastic, cheery and competent operator at the end of the phone. I just thought it was worth the while mentioning it and to take the time to thank you and Emma, the operator, for changing my slightly cynical opinion on how the customer is usually treated these days.

Ted Hutchin owns two classic cars and both are MGs. The first is a 1968 MGC GT which he describes as a truly superb car and uses it as his daily drive to and from work and also for the odd classic car run with the MG Owners Club. The second classic car is a 1971 MGB roadster with a V8 conversion which he uses for days out, and is perfect for trips to the sea-side.
He came across Lancaster due to the link with the MG Owners Club and has stayed with them over the years because of the response and ease by which they have been able to make annoying events such as other cars bumping into his, somewhat bearable.
Ted comments: “Both of my cars are for using, not keeping under lock and key or only using when the weather is dry and bright. I find the best way to keep these cars in good order is to use them regularly, that way it is possible to identify problems before they become too serious. This is why it’s important to have good insurance that is both flexible in terms of use and also allows for the kind of distances I prefer to do.”
He believes that Lancaster’s fee is competitive and they have been able to provide great service over the phone when needed; answering his queries well and given him confidence that he’s in safe hands. In Ted’s view that is well worth his investment in the company.

Ted and his wife have insured their classic and modern cars with Lancaster and Ted is a member of the MG Owners Club, MG Car Club and the Bugatti Owners Club.
Ted concluded: “If I have to pick a favourite classic car then perhaps it might be an E-Type Jaguar Series 2 or maybe a Daimler V8, not that I would like the two MGs to hear that…and this is complicated by the fact that my wife would say that her favourite is an Austin Healey 3000
