Lancaster Insurance and Practical Classics are looking for our next enthusiasts aged 16–25 who are shaping the future of classic motoring.
Yvonne Gosney from Lancaster Insurance says: “Our classic cars tell stories that deserve to be passed on. By protecting this heritage and championing young enthusiasts through Bright Young Sparks, we’re ensuring the passion, skills and spirit of the classic car community continue to flourish for generations ahead.”
The content of the Bright Young Sparks nomination will be judged on the following:
Be aged 16–25
Show a demonstrated interest in classic car maintenance or restoration - this can be through study, work experience, volunteering, or personal projects
Have practical involvement with classic cars - such as hands‑on work, learning new skills, or participating in restoration activities
Engage with the classic car community - for example through clubs, events, online forums, or social media
Show initiative in sharing or developing knowledge - which could include creating content, attending workshops, or pursuing training
Demonstrate a genuine passion for classic cars -expressed in any form that feels authentic to them
June-December: 3 finalists selected
19–21 March 2027: Finalists attend the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show
19 March 2027: Overall winner announced
£500 in the form of an Amazon or Halfords voucher.
