‘Puff the Magic Wagon’ stars with Lancaster Insurance at the 2021 Classic Motor Show

25 October 2021

Lancaster Insurance will embrace the post Covid state of excitement amongst classic car enthusiasts from all over the world, as the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show hits the NEC this November. In its ninth year as headline sponsor, Lancaster Insurance will watch the sensational ‘Puff the Magic Wagon’ take centre stage at stand 250 in Hall One.

Puff the Magic Wagon

The 1969 Austin Maxi, nicknamed ‘Puff’, took on the infamous 1970 London to Mexico Rally as all roads led to the World Cup Finals that year. Puff’s Co-driver, Bron Burrell will be on the Lancaster Insurance stand, to share her stories of danger and daring alongside the car which is preparing to go race the route once again more than half a century later.

“It’s difficult to remember a weekend with so much eager anticipation”, says Lancaster Insurance’s Senior Operations Manager, Andrew Evanson. “With lockdown ending, the open road is beckoning once again, and with that in mind Lancaster Insurance will adopt the theme, ‘The great British road trip’ for the show”.

Visitors can book their dream ride as the Sporting Bears Club and take a classic for spin on roads round the NEC raising money for children’s charities in the process. The ‘Bears’, have raised an incredible £2.5 million since 1989, and with Ferraris and Lamborghinis to enjoy, they’re hoping to boost the total again this time round.

Lancaster is also offering attendees the chance to win a 1984 Ford Escort XR3i in its exclusive free prize draw. Details are available at stand 480 with the iconic ‘hot hatch’ delivered to the winner in time for Christmas.

They will also have their classic Volkswagen Type 2 Camper which has been restored by Practical Classics Magazine up for grabs. The restored Bay Window bus toured some of Britain’s best beaches this summer and the auction takes place at the show on Sunday 14th, with all profits raised going to the charity Prostate Cancer UK.

Andrew added: “With almost 100,000 policies and more than 320 classic car clubs in the Lancaster family, visit our stands to speak to expert staff who can discuss the benefits of classic vehicle insurance and how to contact Lancaster Insurance for a quote. We look forward to seeing everyone on 12th November as the ‘Journey Continues’ for the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show.”
