Lancaster Insurance reveals top classics from 1952

As the nation hangs its Union Jack bunting, finalises street party plans and prepares to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, Lancaster Insurance has revealed which classics, built in the year the Queen came to the throne, are still firm favourites with enthusiasts!

According to its’ policyholder data for cars manufactured in 1952, the MG TD takes the ‘crown’ as the top classic insured with 28%, followed by the Land Rover 80 with 9% and Morris Minor with 7%. Other popular models include the Austin A40, the Ford Prefect and the Jowett Javelin.

Andrew Evanson, Senior Operations Manager, at Lancaster Insurance comments: “As the country gets swept up in celebrating this momentous occasion, we wanted to take a look at the classics which have continued to ‘reign’ in popularity over the last seven decades. There was a real mix of vehicles that have stood the test of time and it’s a fitting tribute that the top three marques all have a royal connection!”
