We reveal our top insured from 1984!

1984 bought us the first Band Aid single, Ghostbusters topping the film charts and the first Classic Motor Show event. It also happens to be the year Lancaster Insurance was born and to celebrate, we’ve analysed which classics launched in 1984 are still popular with our customers today with the Toyota MR2 taking the top spot!

Looking at all classics currently insured with us, that made their debut in 1984, the Vauxhall Astra Mk.2 comes in second with the Saab 900 rounding off the top three. The Austin Metro Mk. II and Reliant Scimitar SS1 take fourth and fifth place respectively.

The top five are all unique in their own way but have a common thread that unites them, they’ve stayed in the hearts of enthusiasts for decades and we’re sure will for many to come.
