Frankie Fiat, my lovely little 3.5t horsebox, really can do it all. On Saturday my friend and I went exploring in him to find some bridleways for the horses, and on Sunday I helped my friend move house, so he became a removal van.
Firstly, as a hype up to Hannah and me, not only was Frankie Fiat a five-star removal van, but we were also five-star removers, to the point that we almost considered a change of careers in all honesty.
But anyway, back to Frankie. I used to have a 7.5t horsebox, but when I was finally fortunate enough to have the funds for a 3.5t we took the long trip up to Liverpool to view him and he came back with me that very same day. After insuring him with Lancaster Insurance first (obviously). I was so excited, as a 3.5t had been a dream for a very long time, mainly because I could drive it myself and didn’t have to rely on my mum anymore, so this was a really big deal.
He has been such a dream these last few years, and I’ve enjoyed so many trips out with the horses in him, whether that be a competition, a lesson or a trip to the beach. And now, it’s apparent he’s also a handy size for some other helpful roles, too.
So, when Hannah mentioned she was moving house, and I had nothing else planned, I offered to help with my box. With snacks in hand (a must have for any trip out in Frankie), we headed off to get Frankie loaded up. Well, I can honestly say we pretty much got everything in him: tables, dressers, bookshelves and outdoor furniture. The outdoor furniture was a nightmare, because of the SPIDERS! We were loading in an outdoor wicker sofa, and from nowhere they started dropping down from the inside of it (like in a horror movie). Traumatic to say the least, and it did mean Frankie had to have a thorough sweep-out on the return home, as spiders in my box is an absolute no-go, even in the horse area.
Anyways, Frankie has decided he’d ideally like to remain a horsebox for now, but it’s good to know he has all these other helpful uses.
