Lancaster Insurance calls for nominations for the latest Bright Young Sparks

Lancaster Insurance are proud to announce that Bright Young Sparks is making a return once again and is open for nominations.

The Bright Young Sparks initiative, sponsored by Lancaster Insurance, aims to engage the next generation and shine a spotlight on those who want to be a part of the classic car world.

The latest Bright Young Sparks winner was Kieron Trumper and his 1968 Triumph 2.5 PI MK1 who received his award at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show 2026 in March.

Bright Young Sparks nominations are open for those age 16-25 who might:

  • Aspire to work in classic car maintenance or restoration
  • Spend their weekends tinkering with cars in the garage
  • Are actively involved in a classic car club
  • Create online or social content all about classic cars
  • Read all the classic car magazines
  • Or simply love classic cars!

People can be nominated for Bright Young Sparks via the Lancaster Insurance website here Bright Young Sparks. Young people can nominate themselves if they are over 18 years, or a young person can be nominated by an adult.

Six finalists will be selected, who will each win: 

  1. £500 in the form of an Amazon or Halfords voucher

  2. Two 1-day tickets to the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show in March 2027

  3. An exclusive feature in the Lancaster Insurance newsletter, website and social channels, all about them and their love of classic cars

  4. At the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show in March 2027, we will be announcing our overall winner, who will win a 'Classic Car Industry Taster’ experience week in partnership with the Federation Skills Trust, 1 day with classic motor publication, Practical Classics and a Sealey Premier Hammer-Thru Screwdriver Set with Tool Tray (6pc).

The Competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged between 16 and 25. If you are under 18, you must ask someone over 18 to complete the entry form. This competition will close at 4:00pm(GMT) on 31st December 2026. The winner will be announced at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show on Friday 19th March 2027 and you must be available to join our stand with your classic vehicle.
