A new chapter for Club Lotus

06 March 2026

“It is with considerable enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility that I introduce myself as your new Chairman of Club Lotus. Taking the helm of the world’s largest independent Lotus club is both a privilege and an exciting challenge as we embark on our 70th anniversary year.

As a lifelong Lotus enthusiast and owner of various models over the past thirty years, the marque has been a constant thread running through my life. The unique character of Colin Chapman’s creations has never failed to inspire — it was this passion that first brought me into the Club Lotus family, and it is that same passion that drives my commitment to serving you as Chairman.

I am delighted to confirm that Alan, who has steered the club with such dedication over many years, will continue to serve as our President. Alan and I have known each other well throughout his tenure as Chairman, and his encyclopaedic knowledge of all things Lotus remains invaluable. His ongoing involvement ensures continuity and wisdom as we embark on this new chapter together.

Our headquarters will remain firmly rooted in Dereham, Norfolk just a stone’s throw from Lotus Cars at Hethel and our friends at Classic Team Lotus. This proximity to the spiritual home of the marque has always been one of our greatest strengths. It is exactly where a club of our heritage belongs.

Equally reassuring is that day-to-day operations will continue without disruption. AnneMarie remains at the helm of membership services and the Club Shop, whilst Jan continues to handle advertising, our magazine and our highly valued valuation service. Their expertise and dedication keep the engine of Club Lotus running smoothly.

So what changes can you expect? My focus will be on extending the reach and benefits of membership through investment in technology and digital services. We have developed plans to transform our online presence into the most comprehensive hub for Lotus enthusiasts worldwide — with enhanced archives, improved member forums and streamlined event booking.

Crucially, we will introduce hybrid events across the country, combining the irreplaceable experience of gathering in person with live streaming for those who cannot attend or wish to catch up later. Whether you are in Norfolk, California or Australia, our goal is to bring the global Lotus community closer together, ensuring geography is no longer a barrier to full participation in club life.

This is an evolution, not a revolution. The values that have made Club Lotus the trusted, independent voice of Lotus ownership since 1956 remain paramount. I look forward to meeting many of you in person or online throughout the year.”
