One of the many attractions of the Silverstone Auction at this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show is a vehicle that genuinely merits the term ‘television icon’. HLT 709 C is an Austin Mini Moke, built on 15th May 1965 and registered a month later in London.

The theme of the 35th anniversary Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery, has been revealed as ‘Top Trumps’, the iconic card game that has been played across the world for over 40 years and is now more popular than ever!
The theme for this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, powered by Discovery, will be ‘Family Ties’. Held at Birmingham’s NEC from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th November, the 240 exhibiting clubs are invited to embrace the theme with their own interpretations.

To celebrate the ‘Family Ties’ theme of this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery, two Williams F1 cars driven by one of the most famous father/son dynasties in the history of the sport will be on display at the NEC show, held 10-12 November.
Anyone who visited the 1980 Motor Show will recall the crowds around the new Austin Min Metro and Ford Escort Mk. III – plus a new Lancia, for the Trevi made its British debut at the NEC.
