The Great Classic Trade-Up
Lancaster Insurance take on Classics World in our 2022 restoration challenge!
It’s a classic match-up… so book your ringside seat for our restoration challenge!
This year Lancaster Insurance are challenging Classics World in a restoration challenge, to see who can upgrade their car to the most valuable vehicle by this November, where we’ll be crowning the winner at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show.
In the blue corner, we have the Lancaster legend Andrew ‘The Avenger‘ Evanson, and in the red corner the Classics World King, Phil ‘The Warrior’ Weeden in a fight to the matt finish.
The rules are simple:
- Each contestant had an initial £5,000 to buy and restore their first car
- They will sell this and use the profits to buy another car to restore and sell again… and so on and so forth
- The aim is to keep increasing the value of the car to see who ends up with the most valuable car by this year’s Classic Motor Show in November.
Starting at this year’s Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show on 18-20th March, we’ll be offering you the chance to enter a competition throughout the year and once a champion is declared, one lucky winner will be able to choose one of the cars to take home. The other car will be auctioned and the proceeds donated to charity.
And we're off!
We've already purchased our first motors, and we displayed them at this year's Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show on 18-20th March. Classics World pipped us to the post and sold their Honda Acty RomaHome at the show!
At Lancaster Insurance, we picked up this lovely little Fiat 127 produced between 1971 and 1983, with just 27,000 miles on the clock and every old MOT to prove that it’s genuine. According to DVLA records there are only 128 Fiat 127’s either taxed or SORN in the UK and only two of those are the 127 Super derivative like ours! It's for sale so please get in touch if you're interested.
Classics World on the other hand, found this fantastically retro Honda Acty RomaHome camper from 1985 - which has already been sold to one lucky owner!
And they've already bagged their second car - a beautiful BMW E36 323! As an added bonus, this particular example has the M-Sport body kit, and what appear to be genuine M3 alloys and door mirrors.
