About Us

MG Insurance Services Ltd was formed as the insurance division for the MG Owners Club in 1984 and specialised in providing MG Insurance for members of the MG Owners Club.

As the popularity and demand for classic car insurance grew, it was decided in 1989 to arrange insurance for a wider variety of classic cars. This resulted in the MG insurance division becoming Lancaster Insurance Services Ltd.

Our client base was continually increasing and this provided a great opportunity to promote other insurance services. By 1996, a comprehensive suite of general insurance services were also available. Due to the continued growth of the business we later moved to our purpose built offices in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire.

By 2000 it was apparent that one of the biggest growth areas for insurance would be business conducted via the internet. In response, Lancaster Insurance Services Ltd launched an online quotation system which allowed classic car owners to generate a quote and insure their vehicles.

In 2013 Lancaster Insurance Services Ltd was acquired by Markerstudy. The acquisition adds greater capacity and valuable expertise to Markerstudy’s insurance intermediary and administration business. Lancaster Insurance Services Ltd is fully committed to maintaining the focus that we have on specialist expertise and service excellence. Being part of Markerstudy allows us to enhance the value we offer in these areas.
